Happy Orange Saturday!

Today started out a little blah...Eric and I had talked about going kayaking in Monterey. Unfortunately I woke up in pain, and, yes, this comes to haunt me every month. Event though I try and ignore it, the pain still overwhelms me and conquests any counteractive intentions I may have. Today was no exception, and with a constant grind in my body, I was not interested in pretending to be able to make the best of it in a kayak. Nevertheless, once we had reassessed the situation, the day turned out quite orange. Orange like the sunny skies that kissed our cheeks while we fell a sleep in the grass, the bees that hummed around us, the Chow dog nearby, and orange like the orange I used both for the baked parsnips and the shrimp fettucini.

We didn't get out of bed until 10am, and after a bowl of cereal, I tried and distract myself from my painful womb. I baked coconut cookies, chatted with Chrissy on the phone, and moved around cleaning up our place while Eric got busy publishing our photo album on Flickr (check out his work from the link I've added on the top left). By 2pm it was time for sandwhiches, and shortly following we were out the door headed down to Stern Grove Park. Coziness! It turned out to be a waste of time and effort that we had brought our books, and we zzzzzzzz the next hour away.

Walking back through West Portal we found fresh blackberries, raspberries, peas, drugs for me, and a sweet crepe. So much trouble to get into here at West Portal in such little time! As soon as we got home, it turned out to be a mere pit stop before we headed out again with a coupon for a free movie rental at Le Video. I can not believe Eric yet has to watch 'Monster' featuring Charlize Theron's oscar winning performance. Well, tonight is the night ;-)

At this moment my belly is full of Midol and orange flavored shrimp fettucini + parsnips, and both are working their magic. Really, don't ask me why I had to add the orange. I guess orange just turned out to be the color of the day :-) What color was your day?
