Ouch!

So, I don't recommend putting salt water into your eye. It hurts! And can you believe this tiny little bottle of pain is a $25 rip-off at the drug store?!? Oh well, hopefully it will help my eye heal, along with the other $25 rip-off salt water ointment I'm supposed to blur my vision with at night before going to bed. Well, I suppose before going to bed rather before getting in the car is the best time to self-inflict blurry vision...

You may ask, what is all this eye drama about? Regardless, I'll answer, it's a long story, and the long of the short is that since I scratched my eye ball in March, my eye has not been able to heal from the abrasion. Every night it tries as I close my eyes to sleep. But, every morning it soars in pain and failure when I open my eyes again and rip off the regenerating tissue with the inside of my lid. Supposedly the salt water solution helps the tissue attach quicker to the base of the eye ball where my gaping wound burns the *#$% out of me every day, and by expediting the healing process I might wake up one morning without the pain. Or, maybe I won't. The optometrist said there were no guarantees, and she was quite frankly concerned to hear that it's been this way for months since the abrasion looks like it happened yesterday. Well, there was good news too though. It's not inflamed :-)

Isn't it amazing how much attention, trouble, and concern such a minor body part can cause when it's not working quite right. I realize how I took it for granted when it worked just fine the last 27 years and 10 months of my life. Shame on me.  Anyhow, it doesn't spare me from cleaning day, so off I go for now. See you later? Yes, pun intended :-)
