I would be remiss in continuously limiting my physical activity. Especially now I feel fully recovered from the last 3 weeks of viral infection, strep throat, or whatever that was. Today's bike ride only proved that the exercise was much needed.
After sleeping in until 11 and fixing brunch, Eric and I decided to make a bicycle ride out of returning 'Monster' to Le Video. It must have been the Midol I got up to take at 6am that knocked me out until 11, but I quickly snapped out of my daze in the saddle. It was great to feel the blood pumping, the muscles working, and the endorphin rush creating euphoria in my brain. 45 minutes flew by, but I admit to be glad when it came to end. The weather was grey and bordering on rain today. Following, an ear ache surprised me and instantly evoked painful memories of outdoors exercise in the sharp coastal winds of little Denmark. Not moments I miss.
Another highlight was to hear Mamãe's voice today, and I was stoked to hear that she is visiting Brazil again in September. My grandparents really need the emotional support, and hopefully my Vovó will get her much needed surgery taken care of while Mamãe visits. I miss my family, and I struggle with the fact that I do not live closer to them. This blog helps a little, and the technology we now have available to us (Skype, e-mail, calling cards, etc.) has made the world smaller. It is just not small enough when you need a hug, to stroke a tear away, or interrupt an argument, and that is when I realize that my Shamrock has become my family. You fit right in, and I love you Tiger :-)
Anyhow, this became a much more emotional and longer blog than expected. It must be that bike ride that got my brain cells moving and speculating. However, I better stop for now. I promised corn chowder for dinner, and it is almost that time :-) With hopes you all had a wonderful Sunday with your loved ones too!
